Prolonging the replacement of these chains could potentially lead to severe engine damage including bent valves, damaged pistons or worst case, an engine replacement. VEHICLE FITMENT GUIDE
There may be a discrepancy for vehicles built on dates that borderline the change-over of the design of the timing chain. We cannot guarantee what kit you require if this applies to your vehicle. You can confirm by removing one of the cam covers and inspecting the chains that run over the cam gears. We also sell most V6 Alloytec and SIDI related gaskets and replacement parts. Kindly note: If you plan on replacing the lower timing chain guide, we recommend replacing the oil pump which includes a replacement guide already assembled to the pump. We have found with previous customer setups that the lower oil pump guide included in our kit is not always compatible. If this is the case, then the factory guide can be left in place or the oil pump can be replaced with one of ours. Caution: Once assembled, the timing chain tensioners need to be fully released to maintain adequate tension. Simply pulling the pins is not enough. All tensioners must be pressed in by hand for the internal mechanism to fully pop out and operate effectively. Following this, the motor is to be rotated by hand one full revolution in a clockwise direction to ensure all parts have been fitted correctly. Failing to follow these steps will result in a noisy timing chain upon start up and will require the motor to be disassembled again to access the tensioners. Interbrand uses three measures to gauge how effective a brand is – performance of branded product, the brands ability to secure earnings and the role of the brand in purchasing decisions – to come up with a chart of the top 100 world brands. At the top of the tree are companies like Coca Cola, IBM, Microsoft and Google, but car brands do well with Toyota, Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Honda, VW, and Ford all making it in to the top 50.
NHTSA announces Kia, Hyundai recalls
Tue, 03 May 2011The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said Tuesday that Hyundai Motor Co. is recalling almost 60,000 Kia Spectras from the 2004-2007 model years because of fuel-tank straps that can corrode over time. According to NHTSA, one or both straps can break, letting the tank drop to the ground.

Fri, 31 Jul 2009Bryan Nesbitt, who until last week was General Motors' North American Vice President of Design, started his new role as general manager of the Cadillac brand on Monday, July 27. His appointment, which surprised many, is part of an effort to integrate design, marketing and advertising, which have always been intrinsically linked. While this move marks a significant step change in the positioning of the new General Motors, which, under the direction of product czar Bob Lutz, has seen fit to promote a young designer into such a high level managerial position, it is a triumph not only for Nesbitt, 40, but for all designers: it is the first time that a designer has been promoted to one of the top executive roles at an automotive company.
